DirectSmile is up to date with html5 and understand such tag like: <Video>
This one is used to bind a movie.
Here is an example using a html item inside Crossmedia Designer, simply copy and paste the code below and change parameters:

Of course it is not only restricted to mp4, who is the most used format, there are more. However, make attention and well tested under different browser.
